The best breakfast spots near Los Gigantes, Tenerife — local recommendations

You didn't fly all the way to Tenerife to settle for a sad hotel buffet, right?
One of the questions we get asked most often when welcoming guests is: "Where should we go for a really good breakfast?"
And honestly — we love that question. Because a slow morning with good coffee and something genuinely delicious sets the tone for the entire day. It's one of those small things that can make a holiday feel completely different.
So instead of leaving you to guess your way through Google Maps, here are our personal favourite breakfast spots in and around Los Gigantes. The kind of places we'd go to ourselves — and do, regularly.

1. Los Gigantes Beach Club — breakfast with the best view on the island
~20 min walk or 4 min drive from most of our apartments
If you're going to do one breakfast properly during your stay, make it this one.
Los Gigantes Beach Club sits right on the water, with uninterrupted views of the cliffs, the beach, and the Atlantic stretching out in front of you. It's one of those settings that genuinely makes you pause for a moment when you arrive — even if you've seen pictures beforehand.
On the breakfast and brunch menu you'll find croissants filled with pistachio cream, pancakes, fresh juices, and healthy breakfast bowls. The kind of food that's worth lingering over.
Fair warning: you'll sit down for breakfast and find yourself still there an hour later. The views make it impossible to rush.

2. Huggin' a Mug — the best coffee in Los Gigantes, full stop
~10 min walk from the centre
If you're a coffee person, this is your place.
Huggin' a Mug is a specialty coffee shop tucked in a side street in Los Gigantes — the kind of spot you almost walk past, then immediately walk back to. The owners know their coffee properly: origins, processing, roast profiles. If you ask, they'll happily talk you through it.
Come here for specialty coffee served by people who genuinely care about it, fresh pastries, and yoghurt bowls with homemade granola and fruit. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate — more neighbourhood café than tourist spot, which in Los Gigantes is a rare and lovely thing.
It's also consistently one of the highest-rated cafés in the area on Tripadvisor, which tells you everything you need to know.
3. Panier Coffee & Brunch, Playa San Juan — worth the short drive
~15–20 min drive along the coast
This one requires a small adventure — but it's the kind of adventure that pays off.
Playa San Juan is a charming, relatively unhurried fishing village about 15 minutes down the coast. It has a lovely waterfront promenade, a calm atmosphere, and a genuinely local feel that's worth experiencing even if just for a morning.
Right on the central square, you'll find Panier Coffee & Brunch — a small, Italian-run café that has quietly become one of the most talked-about breakfast spots on the west coast of Tenerife. It's rated 5.0 on Tripadvisor, which is almost unheard of.
The menu is creative and genuinely fresh: pistachio pancakes, healthy bowls, filled croissants, fresh juices, vegan and gluten-free options throughout, and yes — even pistachio coffee. Everything is made in-house, with ingredients sourced locally where possible.
If you're travelling with children, this is an especially easy stop — there's a plaza right in front with space for kids to run around while you actually finish your coffee warm.
Our recommendation: pair the visit with a short walk along the waterfront before or after. Playa San Juan is one of those places you end up glad you left the apartment for.
A different kind of morning
If you're used to busy resort breakfast buffets, you might find this a welcome change of pace.
The places we've listed above aren't loud or overcrowded. They're not on the main tourist trail. They're just genuinely good — the kind of spots that locals and regulars keep coming back to, and that you'll probably find yourself mentioning to friends once you're home.
That's what slow mornings in Los Gigantes can look like. Good coffee, good food, no rush.
Our tip? Don't over-plan. Pick a spot, take your time, and let the day unfold from there.
